July 2007
Dear Friend and BC/EFA donor:
This year, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS has overhauled our Annual Report—dramatically reducing the size of the publication and making it available exclusively on our website, beginning July 20, 2007.
That’s right, BC/EFA’s 2006 Annual Report – covering our activities from October 1, 2005 through September 30, 2006 – will be available electronically, rather than printing and mailing thousands of copies to our supporters.
A combination of fiscal practicality and common sense prompted the decision to make these changes.
Publishing online will save us over $40,000 in design, printing and mailing costs, as well as reducing the number of employee hours required to research, compile, design, edit, revise and proof a 72-page publication—hours which can be redirected to fundraising activities.
We’ve come to realize that a publication of this size is in many ways unnecessary, since the annual report duplicates much of the material regularly covered on the web-site and in our 24-page Behind the Scenes newsletter, which is published twice a year (a winter and summer edition) and will now be BC/EFA’s primary publication.
I hope you’ll agree that the decision to reposition our annual report emphasizes BC/EFA’s long-term commitment to fiscally responsible, cost-efficient fundraising and grant-making for people with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses.
Please check the BC/EFA website for the most current news on our fundraising and grant-making efforts, a wealth of pictures and new video clips, along with an assortment of profiles of volunteers and the organizations we fund. Our audited financial information will also be at your fingertips.
Of course, acknowledgement of your generous support as one of BC/EFA’s major donors will be available on the website, as well as being an on-going part of all of BC/EFA major event programs.
We appreciate your involvement and commitment to BC/EFA and our affiliates—Dancers Responding to AIDS (DRA) and Classical Action.
Please don’t hesitate to give me a call if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,

Tom Viola
Executive Director
